Amy M. Fowler

Amy handles labor and employment matters on behalf of a variety of companies, from small, locally-owned companies to national Fortune 500 clients, and individuals. Amy began her legal career as a judicial clerk for the Hon. G. Thomas VanBebber, United States District Court Judge for the District of Kansas, where she assisted Judge VanBebber with all facets of federal trial court proceedings. Amy spent the bulk of her career as a partner in the Kansas City offices of a national AmLaw100 law firm and later as a founding Member of a boutique Kansas City labor and employment firm.

Amy’s entire career in private practice has focused on labor and employment matters. Her extensive experience includes litigating (at the trial and appellate court level) discrimination, harassment, and retaliation lawsuits involving sex, gender, age, race, national origin, disability, and family or medical leave lawsuits. She provides day-to-day counseling of employers about human resources issues; conducts independent investigations of alleged inappropriate or unlawful conduct in the workplace; conducts human resources audits, policy reviews and training sessions on effectively managing employees; and drafts, advises on, and litigates noncompetition, nonsolicitation, confidentiality and executive employment agreements.

She has received multi-year recognition in Chambers USA, Labor & Employment Law, the Kansas City Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar,” and Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers. Amy is also active in multiple bar associations and is a long-standing member on many diversity and labor and employment committees.

Amy is a Kansas City native, and her love for the community—particularly its sports teams—runs very, very deep. When she’s not practicing law, or coaching youth basketball, or watching one of her son’s games, you might very well catch her out at a Sporting KC, Royals, or Chiefs game cheering on one of her beloved hometown teams.
